The Greek Computer Museum is a dream of a group of young people before about six years began the creation, in the belief that knowledge should be shared and, above is open to the whole community.

Our vision for a computer museum Information technology and computer technology have been established in our lives and find application in every facet. Computer systems can meet every kind of devices, from the most specialized as a medical machine until the coffee vending machine. The rapid spread of computers has led and leads the IT manufacturers to constantly evolve their products and are very often new devices.

This raises very fast devices to the dustbin of history information and allows us to consider museum piece decommissioned objects very quickly because of the rapid development.

All these findings spawned the idea to gather in one place the past, present and future of technology which will be on display devices and programs from the world of IT and the development in the last decades.

The Greek Computer Museum (EL.M.P.) is the first official institution in Greece that attempts to gather knowledge on developments in the IT field since 1970 to date in a single area in the form Museum. This is a no-profit organization that relies on donations of computers, software and other items from the IT sector, derived by individuals from public and large private organizations, as well as many other groups. The operation of EL.M.P. It relies entirely on its own resources.

The collection of the Museum starts chronologically from the late 70s and early 80s, which in essence is the origin of the concept of the personal computer. Specifically, the museum's collection numbers about 140 computers and over 2,300 objects from the IT field. Also an important part of the collection are books and periodical press. So visitors can experience the history of information through a large number of computer systems companies have disappeared or still exist, such as Sinclair, Commodore, Amstrad, Texas Instruments, Wang, Olivetti PC, Acorn, Cromenco, Zenith, Casio, Compaq, Toshiba, Sharp, Apple, IBM and compatible, software and peripherals. Note that the exhibits are increasing almost monthly.
