A man's love is sometimes enough to become inspiration for many. Inspiration becomes vision and vision, reality.   The Historic Folkloric Ecosystem of Egaleo began in 1966 as a personal collection of a student from Crete who was studying Pilaia's Palira. It was then that the journey of the collection began, a journey into the memory of the past through forgotten objects. Scorpions, shops, shops in Monastiraki, gatherers were the ports that often fed this personal collection not only with objects, but also with stories, memories, experiences of alien times.   The objects now a lot, the anxiety to stay big, the difficulties even bigger. Until 2009, the museum finally finds shelter in Egaleo, in a refugee house with a traditional courtyard. As if they matched, you will say, harmoniously the stories of the old objects, with the family stories of the house and the memories of the collective memory of the place.   Whenever the door of the museum courtyard opens and runs our doorstep, this journey continues. Mr. Yannis Perrakis, creator and director of ILO, welcomes and tells stories, elements and memories for each subject separately, with the same passion and inspiration as he was in his student years. Because the same inspiration sees in the eyes of a child when he sees the workshop of the carpenter, the blacksmith, the shoemaker. In the eyes of the teacher who will observe the old school supplies and the journalist who will first see the manual printing press. The young man who will see the costume of Tsolia, the biopalist who will see the latern. The same inspiration in the eyes of the musician who will listen to the gramophone and the collector who will admire old books, manuscripts and coins. It's not just our own stories, it's yours. It's the stories of a girl when she sees her grandmother's parasite or loom, a guy just seeing his father's volcano or plow. It's the story of a woman who will endear the lamp and the heat of the wood-burning oven. Our museum is not a simple collection of old objects. It is a journey into time and memories, a journey into our History and Folklore. It is in the depths, a journey into our identity.
