WHO ARE WE The Hellenic-Bulgarian Association for Culture is a non-profit cultural and educational civic organization with activities in public benefit, created in 2010 by the will of Bulgarians living and working in Athens and led by them. The majority of the founding members of the Association are former members of other organizations of Bulgarian migrants in Greece. The association is open to all Bulgarians living, working or studying in Greece as well as to all members of their families or friends of Bulgaria of Greek or other origin. A member of the Association can be anyone who adopts its objectives and Statute.

STATUS By decision of the Athens Court of First Instance of May 4, 2011, the Association is a regular legal entity based in Athens, Greece. The main document that regulates the activity of the Association is its Statute, legally adopted at the Constituent Assembly of the Association in 2010 and officially approved by decision of the Athens Court of First Instance. The Articles of Association are consistent with the requirements of the Greek law provided for in the Greek Civil Code (Article 79) and the activities of the Association will be in accordance with the provisions of local law.

OUR MISSION • To support and protect by all lawful means the rights of Bulgarian citizens who live, work and study in the Hellenic Republic in order to best satisfy their material, moral, cultural and public interests and mainly those related to the stay and Their work in Greece, • To provide them with knowledge and information about their homeland so that they do not become estranged from its culture, language, customs and tradition, and help them in their contacts with their compatriots all over the world, • To provide them with knowledge and information about the Hellenic Republic in order to better and seamlessly adapt to the Greek society, • To provide the Greek community with knowledge and information about Bulgaria in order to better mutual understanding between the two peoples and further development of the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries as well as the development of friendly relations with other communities of foreign citizens, Who live and work in the Hellenic Republic, • To contribute to the consolidation of relations between the members of the Association and the creation of a spirit of altruism and solidarity.

ACTIVITIES The organization's objectives for the Association are already in place: • 2 Sunday schools: Paisii Hilendarski Sunday School in Athens and Second Paisii Hilendarski Second Sunday School in Gerani Village, Chania County, Crete Island - for pre-school and school age children for studying Bulgarian language and literature, Bulgarian history , Culture, geography, music, etc .; • as well as an Information Center.

In order to promote the Bulgarian culture among the Greek society and to support the realization of cultural and creative contacts between Bulgaria and Greece and to create opportunities for creative engagement and realization of the members of the Association under construction are: • Cultural Club "Bulgaria" - for the creative commitment of the members of the Association, • as well as a Library.

MANAGEMENT BOARD The Association is managed by a Managing Board, elected at the General Assembly of the Founders, composed of: Blagodina Fillevska - Chairperson, Radka Lachezarova - Deputy Chairperson; Petra Kamenova - Chief Secretary, Elena Nikodimova - Treasurer, Yordan Petrov, Maria Puli, Penka Haydarlieva. Alternative members: Nikolay Todorov, Krassimira Koutzarova.
