Jihomoravské muzeum ve Znojmě

The Znojmo Regional Museum enriches the cultural life of the metropolis of Southwest Moravia since 1878, when it was founded by the German City Association as a museum of local history. In its collections, the focus is on the regional nature and the local cultural and artistic environment, which is dominated by the extensive archaeological collection or the Znojmo Madonna from the gothic sculpture production of the Master of Michel Madonna. There is also a unique collection of oriental weapons in the Czech Republic of an unprecedented extent. The natural and cultural heritage of Znojmo is presented in the Art House, the Minorite Monastery, the Znojmo Castle and the Prokop Divis Memorial in Přímětice. The South Moravian Museum is also in charge of the rotunda of St. Catherine or the ruins of Cornštejn Castle.
