Københavns Fængslers Museum

Located in the heart of Copenhagen, the Københavns Fængslers Museum, or Copenhagen Prison Museum, offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of prisons in Denmark. Run by former employees, this museum is filled with exciting artifacts collected over many years, including contraband items, examples of toy production by inmates, and even the actual cells from the past.

The museum is open to the public every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. However, if you want a more in-depth experience, you can book a guided tour between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. The price for a guided tour is DKK 300,00 for up to 20 people. After 1:00 pm, the museum is open to all, and the entrance fee is only DKK 20,00 per person. Please note that credit cards are not accepted, so make sure to bring cash.
