Kuldīgas novada muzejs

Kuldīga County Museum was founded in 1935, since 1940 it is located on Pils street 5, in the City Garden, near the Venta hub, at the place where the Livonian Order Castle was formerly located. In 2011, the facade was renovated in the museum building, while in 2014, extensive interior restoration and reconstruction works were completed, which allowed the historic building to regain its appearance and adapt it to the requirements of a modern museum - appreciated both by visitors and industry professionals. In 2016, the museum was named the European Museum of the Year Award.

Information and customer service center operates on the first floor. Our specialists help make the museum a pleasant and recognizable adventure. It is also considered affordable - there is a lift in the building that will make it easier for the museum to see people with disabilities. The second floor exhibition is arranged as an apartment - a version of a well-to-do-goer's life style at the beginning of the 20th century. On the third floor visitors will be presented with an insight into the history of the city at the exhibition "Kuldiga before us". Every time you visit the museum, you will meet what has not been seen before, as a new exhibition is opened each month.
