The State Archaeological Museum of Ascoli Piceno was founded in 1981. It collects the legacy of the Civic Museum of Ascoli from the middle of the nineteenth century which preserves archaeological collections. And 'it situated in the Renaissance Palazzo Panichi in one of the two most famous squares of the city, Arringo square. The first floor houses the artefacts picena coming from the villages and from the necropolis of the southern dell'Ascolano and high Teramo territory. On the ground floor are the remains of the Roman space Asculum, monuments enrolled in travertine mosaic with the central two-faced mask.
