Palazzo dei Mercanti

The Historical Residence "Palazzo dei Mercanti" is located in the historic center of Ascoli Piceno, a few steps from Piazza del Popolo, the usual haunt of Ascoli citizens since the Middle Ages. The property overlooks the course Trento and Trieste, important street of the old town, at the junction with Corso G. Mazzini, the old "decumanus".  The rear façade of the "Palazzo dei Mercanti" is all about "Rua A. Vipera", ancient road, that an oral tradition, being the main course that in past centuries. It is dedicated to the noble architect Ascoli Antonio Vipera first project of the Temple of San Francesco. Just the imposing size of the dome and the elegance of the St. Francis church tower dominate the "Palazzo dei Mercanti."
