Museo Civico Archeologico Etnologico di Modena

The Civic Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, founded in 1871, is located in the eighteenth century Palazzo dei Musei. The museum displays a rich documentation of the historical development and the city's population dynamics and the Modena area from prehistoric to medieval times. The nineteenth-century exhibition structure is a rare and precious testimony museological.

Free admission - free audio guide in four languages. Hours: Tuesday-Friday: 9:00 to 12:00, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 10:00 to 13:00, 15:00 to 18:00 (October 1 to May 31), 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (June 1 to September 30). Closed on Mondays and the mornings of December 25 and January 1. Chance of afternoon openings for groups (min. 20 persons) by reservation. In the atrium on the ground floor of the Palace: info point, ticket office, lift, bookshop, cafeteria, educational workshop, wi-fi area.
