The Museum of the Automobile of Turin (MAUTO), currently dedicated to Giovanni Agnelli, is located on the left bank of the river Po in the Lingotto district and is considered one of the most important and ancient car museums in the world. The permanent museum collection has about 200 cars, plus some chassis and about twenty engines. The cars are about 80 different brands (many of them disappeared) representing ten countries (Italy, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Countries, France, Poland, Spain, Russia and United States of America). Among the various cars there are also race cars and Formula One cars such as the Ferrari F310 of Michael Schumacher in 1996, the Alfa Romeo 179B or 155 V6 TI, famous for having dominated the DTM since its first year of participation. In the basement there is an area of about 2000 m² called Garage for cars that can not be exposed due to logistical reasons and also the "Scuola di restauro" where the cars are being restored.
