The Museum of the Resistance, Deportation, War, Rights and Freedom, opened to the public in 2003, it is headquartered in the eighteenth century complex of the Military District. The same building houses the National Film Archive of the Resistance, the Piedmont Institute for the History of Resistance and Contemporary Society and the International Centre of studies Primo Levi. The permanent exhibition "Torino 1938 - 1948. From the racial laws to the Constitution" evokes the daily life during the war, the German occupation, the Resistance and the return to democracy, through images, sounds and voices of witnesses, presented in an original multimedia installation. The Museum extends its interest to Europe, to the twentieth century and the contemporary through a packed program of temporary exhibitions and events.
