Museo Ferroviario Piemontese

The Association Piedmont Railway Museum was costitutita with Regional Law no. 45 of 26 Lugio 1978.

The association aims to provide for the retrieval and preservation of railway material of historical interest, with particular reference to rail vehicles and to traction systems that have characterized the history of transport in Piedmont.

Some rotabilii the collection are maintained with for carrying tourist / reminiscent trains.

At the former station of Turin Porta Milano (Moscow Bridge) Turin-Ceres railway line, which is still the headquarters of the maintenance and restoration workshop. The premises are made available by Gruppo Torinese Trasporti - GTT.

Since 2001 the Museum has its own exhibition venue situated in Savigliano in which you can see several historical rail vehicles including: steam locomotives, diesel, electric, wagons, carriages and special rail vehicles.

Inside the building of the Museum is placed the collection of tools and memorabilia themed accessories.

Modeling section includes an extensive collection of model trains from all eras and from all over the world; Outstanding among them is the large model railway digital electronic control.

In the garden outside, a railway circuit full-scale houses, in summer, the circulation of scale models 1.

The library holds more than 2400 books and magazines on the subject of rail, both technical and popular.

It 'a media room used for the assembly of shareholders, often required by external agencies for conferences and seminars.

Recall that the MFP lives thanks to the efforts of volunteers who in addition to the restoration and operation of rolling stock, take care of all the maintenance of the office (but does not seem to require much time and labor), sometimes devoting several days at work are far from trains but equally important and necessary.
