Narodni Muzej Labin

The Labin National Museum was founded in 1960 and operates within the Labin Open University.

The museum is located in the old town core of the Baroque palace of the Battiala-Lazzarini family. Provides an overview of the lab history through the selection of the most important events presented in chronological order, the elaboration of thematic units and interactive points. Exhibits in the exhibition are accompanied by four-sided texts on the palate (in Croatian, English, Italian and German). The permanent exhibition consists of a monastery with mostly Roman monuments, a chronological overview of the city's history and the most significant events, showing a strike from the 1921 Knight known as the "Labinska republika" and a review of the recent history. The museum also features an ethnographic exhibition and a special unit devoted to Istrian teacher and revolutionary Giuseppini Martinuzzi. A special attraction is a permanent mining exhibition that reflects almost a four-lane lab mined history. It was realized in the basement and cellar part of the museum building, between 1961 and 1964, with direct assistance from the Istrian coal mines Raša. The museum manages the Collection of Sacred Art, located in the church of St. Mary of Consolators and the memorial setting of Matija Vlačić Ilirika located in the former Francovich palace. In 2005, Lonely Planet was proclaimed by the National Museum of Labin, the most original museum in Croatia.
