This year Orillo is celebrating the arrival of the Tour De France by hosting a Yorkshire Garden Party right in the heart of York. The Museum Gardens is the perfect host for the event: located in between Lendal Bridge and Marygate, it is right in the city centre.
At 9:30AM, the gates will open to coincide with the riders’ departure, and a live stream of the ITV coverage will be projected onto a 6 metre long LED screen, ensuring that you won’t miss a moment of the action.
To accompany the screen with Papakata who will supply large canvas teepees, filled with all kinds of delights - from popcorn and hot dogs, to healthy snacks and frozen yoghurt supplied by local company UGOT & Filtmore and Union. We are also putting on a bar in the evening (open from 8pm), serving an array of summery beverages to extend the day’s festivities into the night.
Alongside our twilight bar, we will be supplying an assortment of local up-coming artists as they perform live for you both before and after the main event of the evening: the open-air cinema. The film is still a secret that will be revealed closer to the day, but we can assure you that it is a family favourite! After the film, we will invite a few more artists onto the stage and ask you to join us for a few more drinks as we cheers to a wonderful weekend of cycling.
