Your relaxation oasis, located just 5 km from Targu Jiu, is 14 m long / 7 m wide with a depth between 1.45 m and 2.2 m. Children under 12 years of age can only be supervised by one adult.

Tradition The "Casa Cartianu" Pension tries to revive the charm of Casa Cartianu (Catul de la Cartiu), the rustic style and the architecture of the pension preserve the lines of this superb example of the ancient Romanian architecture. The building, which occupies a picturesque position on the bank of the river Cartior, was built in 1760, as shown by the documents of the old family of the Cartians. Built at first in the form of a pile, it has undergone several interventions over time, developing later in the form in which it is found today and which is an example of how to understand the association of wood structures and masonry, the dominant note of sub-Carpathian architecture.

Casa Cartianu is one of the few examples of the old architecture that they can still tell the followers of those who built it. The house is currently working on an ethnographic collection and a collection of documents on the history of the Cartianu family. The small museum is supervised even by the descendants of the Cartianu family, who become guides of eventual visitors (friendly guides, offering not only simple information, but also family anecdotes that give the atmosphere of the house).

Location From the national road 66 branches the county road Turcineşti-Schela (DJ664), which once was the connecting road with Transylvania through the Vâlcan pass. This road allows access to the village of Cartiu one of the most picturesque villages in northern Oltenia (5 km from Targu Jiu).
