Casa di Virgilio is the only theater in the city mainly dedicated to the production, promotion of theatrical culture and hospitality within the theater season of Tuscan companies and large international realities. Great importance has the activities for schools, carried out with special projects ranging from children's theater festivals, the hospitality of the shows produced by the students, the directed courses for teachers, to specific projects for High Schools and third classes of the Lower Medium. Casa di Virgilio, built in 1911 by the members of the Mutual Aid Society of Rifredi, in the 60's became a meeting place engaged in cabaret and pantomime. In 1986, after renovations radicals, the Theatre of Rifredi reopened relying on artistic and organizational direction of Pupi and Fresedde company, one of the most famous Tuscan teams, known throughout Europe for his performances of folk imprint, comic and music. Thanks to the prestige of the permanent company of production and to the professionalism of hosted shows, in a few years the area has seen Rifredi quadrupling its audience becoming one of the most qualified and popular drama theaters of the city of Florence.
