For too long the gassinese territory has experienced a cultural abandonment, given the proximity to the big city and identification, in spite of himself, in the dormitory town. Frequently, many citizens, especially among young people, as soon as possible attuavano a jump "qualitative" and moved into town. In the last decade there has been a turnaround, which brought young couples to choose this area as a new place of residence. A new, small migratory wave, after the massive, from the south of Italy, of the 60 / 70s. Then, in Gassino they had arisen three cinemas, one of which (the Italian Cinema) also used as a theater hall. The Italian cinema was the last to cease operations in the mid-80s.

The season "An Italy in the province" wants to pay homage to this place of culture in the country, inputting within the title the reference to Italy, and to create an ideal continuity with the past.

The province was, and sometimes still is, synonymous with backwardness and narrowness. We will bring in the province, therefore, of national scope shows, with the aim of provincialism the province. The matrix that generates the word "culture" is a Latin verb colere, which means first of all to cultivate, even in a figurative sense to care, treat with care or respect, then honor; by extension, already know that to grow you have to be in one place and therefore have some form of permanence, it also means to live.

Culture thus comes healing and inhabiting a place, where this is not important, perhaps, even be in the province, in a small town helps us to have a strong identity. This led us to devise "An Italy in the province."
