The Garrison, Bar and Restaurant

This is the official group place for The Garrison, Guardhouse Bar/Restaurant and Garrison function room with outdoor rooftop terrace. We are wedding and event specialists.

The original military grade II listed building stands amongst turrets completed in 1854, the Jailhouse kept real prisoners of war and also housed the artillery weapons armoury, the stone arches and real cellroom features of the building were restored and converted into a Hotel with an exciting and unorthodox layout in 2001, the courtyards and corridors contain a special nostalgic ambience and have a warming atmosphere inside.

Whether you're staying in one of the 43 en suite bedrooms among the historical surroundings of unique military character, relaxing and kicking back in the bar with a choice from a fine selection of wines and draught beer or perhaps dining in one of our restaurants there's something for everyone to enjoy, it would be criminal to miss it!
