Theater im Steinbruch Emmendingen e.V.

The Theater im Steinbruch is a non-profit association with the aim of making a versatile contribution to the cultural life of the city of Emmendingen. So much, at least for the theoretical part, as it is anchored in our constitution.

In the practical part we are an amateur open-air theater in Emmendingen, about 15 km from Freiburg im Breisgau, and exist since 2002. Our playground is, as the name implies, in a wild and romantic old quarry, which we every summer again bring to life. With a children's and an evening song for the adults, we (as we hope) regularly inspire the spectators, who find a place on our 350 grandstand seats. And if there is still time and energy, then we like to play in winter - but then in the hall.

Of course, it takes a lot of trappings for the theater, which is why we work, build, tailor, make up, grill sausages, sell drinks, and and and before and during the season. In addition, we are a crazy-happy and quite sociable bunch who enjoys having fun together and spending time together.

So, if you're sitting at home one evening and do not really know what to do, then come on a little visit to the theater in the quarry. And if we do not have a season, just drop in anyway - we will not bite and look forward to it!
