Italian Center for Photography opened to the public on 1 October 2015, setting up a structure in Italy to access national and international photography through an open dialogue with artists and institutions. Through studies, experiments and activities dedicated to photography, CAMERA's cultural offer aims to stimulate discussion, raise questions and deepen the story of reality through images. The language of photography will be studied in all its forms in a transversal way and the results put on display without exception of gender or function. CAMERA promotes an international network of individuals and institutions, whose collaboration is aimed at developing new projects that bring the experience and the multiple potential of photography to a wide and heterogeneous public. The headquarters - 2000 square meters - is located in Via delle Rosine 18, within the complex owned by the Opera Munifica Education called Isol di Santa Pelagia, in the building where the first public school of the Kingdom of Italy was opened. The Center will contribute to the vitality of a neighborhood already animated by the presence of cultural institutions such as the National Cinema Museum, Palazzo Reale, the Egyptian Museum and numerous private galleries.
