Tradition and experience are the key words to read the history of the Club Nautico Cervia. Born in the 50's by the will of men of the caliber of Admiral Giovanni Aliprandi and the then Director of the State Monopoly, Giuseppe Gualdi - the latter became president for over 20 years - the activities of the club turned for the first twenty years to the motor boats. Date back to that time the rally along the coast and the crossing Cervia - Pula - Cervia. Then, in 1975, the turning point: the Circle of Via Leoncavallo 9 meets the "Friends of Sail", a group of young sailors connected with the historic waterfront of the bath Anna Grazia Deledda, including Pierpaolo Marini, Giancarlo I think, Nino Rushes, Renzo Valentini and Francesco Mezzogori. Marini takes over the presidency of the new sports association, renamed Sailing Club "Amici della Vela" Cervia. Since then, the club has gradually taken the form and purpose that still distinguish it: the commitment to the sport of sailing dissemination through the training of young sailors in the competitive teams, the establishment of a sailing school among the most prestigious in national level and the organization of events of the first plan at national and international level, not only related to sport, but also to the history, traditions and culture of the navy Cervia. In this sense should be interpreted the two events organized by the club and pride in the panorama of Cervia events: the "Salt Route", re-enactment of the ancient trade route linking the Adriatic city of salt to the glorious past of the Venetian Republic, and the Palio della Voga, true symbol of Cervia town and its beaches.
