Need a time out - the free museum in Maribo is the place to be. Surrounded by woods, in the midst of the scenic natural park of Maribos, lies a little gem that enjoys visitors and has given birth to body and soul for decades.

Retire 200 years back in time and narrow the mood. Discover the old half-timbered houses and feel on your own how it was to live in the countryside in the old days. Move around in the small low-ceilinged rooms, peek in behind the curtain in the beds and lay your neck back and follow the hole in the long chimney all the way up to the clear sky. Take off the shoes in the farmhouse and mark the different floors, write on the board at the school and enjoy the beautiful flowers and old plant types that grow around the area.

At a quick glance, the houses may appear relatively similar, but in fact there are not two of the same kind. Discover and see the different houses that were important for getting a village to work. Here is the opportunity to come close to life with the farmer, the little housekeeper, the land worker, the priest, the school teacher and the smith.

In the area there is also the opportunity to have a test of his inner child, with several different old village physicians, such as 'Stikke Palles eye out', 'Go to Iceland after herring' or 'Tear chicken down'.
