Historical

Founded by the painter Leo Andenmatten, Great Fountain Gallery is housed in the old town of Sion for over 35 years.

Initially, Leo Andenmatten opens the Carrefour des Arts in the street of crucibles. This is the second art gallery in the capital after that of Louis Moret in Grand-Pont.

In 1977, Leo joins Carlo Olsommer and with him founded the Society of Friends of the Arts. Then they move to the 4, rue de Savièse and open the gallery Grande Fontaine.

On the death of Leo, his wife Madeleine co-hosts the gallery for a few years.

In 1984, Carlo Olsommer agrees Suzanne Bolli as director, learning the gallery business, hanging, programming, etc.

Suzanne Bolli bought the gallery in 1986, offering his favorites, born beautiful meetings, workshops discoveries.

Nearly 200 artists have their works hung his picture rails: established artists as talented young people she trusts and who seem to do a fine run.

She hopes to continue this exciting time "adventure", supported recently by his stepdaughter, Effi Szopinski-Bolli.

Both want to discover and enjoy the artists living in the Valais canton and also outside.
