Harris Piano Jazz Bar

The Harris Piano Jazz Bar has a very long and colorful history. It exists from January 1997. From the very beginning, the club was passionate about jazz concerts, during which the guests have direct contact with musicians and can often take part in such concerts thanks to regular jam sessions. In the club, we can eat an original Italian pizza, delicious panini and drink a refreshing cocktail. You can also relax in our summer garden, located on the main square. We offer playing together every Monday and Wednesday. These are jazz jam sessions, fusion sessions, latin jam sessions, funk and soul. On Tuesdays, traditional jazz sounds, while on Fridays, Harris is filled with blues and rock'n'roll. On Saturdays, Sundays and Thursdays, Harris is constantly trying to invite new jazz musicians well known to music lovers - soloists and groups from the Polish and foreign scene. However, it is not always jazz. The club does not close to music that is different, looking for, but always good. It must have something in itself that will make guests willingly come back for a new dose of sounds. Jazz folklore from around the world - melancholy of sounds from northern countries, hot temper of those from the south, eastern longing and attachment to history or western play - the music of all parts of the world is always welcomed here. Harris can boast of an impressive list of outstanding, often world-famous, musicians he has visited on his stage. These include Art Farmer (tp.), Garry Bartz (sax.), Mike Stern (guitar), Roberto Flaming (perk.inst.), Idris Muhammad (dr.), Andy McKee (bass), Karen Edwards (voc.), Xenia Kriisin (voc.), Jorgos Skolias (voc.), Jose Torres (inst.perk.), Michał Urbaniak (violin), Jarosław Śmietana (guitar), Tomasz Szukalski (sax.), Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski (sax), Krzysztof Ścierański (bass), Dominik Bieńczycki (horsetail), Marek Bałata (voc), Marek Michalak (tp.), Paweł Mąciwoda (bass), Tadeusz Leśniak (piano), Ryszard Krawczuk (sax. ), Robert Lubera (voc, git.), Norbert Pajek (git.), Filip Mozul (per.). It would be a sin not to mention here the bands: Jazz Band Ball Orchestra, Funk De Nite, Jarosław Śmietana Trio, New Bone, Que Pass, Energy Drink, Nie-Bo, Cracov Suffering Band, Layatharanga, Frank Morey and his Band, Old Metropolitan Band, Carousel Group, The Globetrotters, Joint Ventures Band, Muariolanza. There is certainly no place here to name all the musicians who thanks to their talent and unique energy have made the Harris Piano Jazz Bar an extraordinary place. In addition to organizing concerts, the club participates in various cultural events, such as photography (also jazz) exhibitions, disc and book promotions, jazz workshops and, of course, larger and smaller jazz festivals taking place in Krakow. At the bar you can also buy CDs from almost every band playing in Harris. The cozy basement consists of three rooms. In the first, largest, there is a scene. The second one is quieter, so it is perfect for conversation, as well as for watching and listening to the concert thanks to plasma on the wall. The third, smallest room, also with plasma, includes one of the longest bars in Krakow, made specially to order with the entire interior by the artist, Krzysztof Ludwin. Wonderful music, common fun, professional service, inviting colors combined with wood and appropriate lighting make the place extraordinary, special and original.
