The building where Hotel Aurora is located was obtained from the Roman walls of the former Franciscan convent of the twelfth century, where the Blessed Egidio stayed with his friend of San Francesco; even the latter probably stayed there several times during his trips to Spoleto; moreover, it seems that he, within the convent, worked the miracle of the conversion of the rich miser. In the same building there was also the Church of Sant'Apollinare, now destroyed. In fact, in the hotel lobby you can admire a 16th century fresco and some of the remains of the monastery walls.
