Jean 2

The only Château de la Loire built in the river bed, the Château de Montsoreau transformed since April 2016 into a museum of contemporary art, opens the doors of Jean 2, his new cellar to eat.

The cellar has two ambiances: a vaulted room, cozy, intimate and relaxed with a library corner to devour a comic book or an art book, a novel or a collection of poetry, with confidence and a terrace, for summer days, with its roof top overlooking the confluence of the Vienne and Loire.

In the kitchen, Jean 2 offers a variety of slates made from local produce: organic and artisan cheeses and pork, accompanied by a glass of natural wine. It is open throughout the day for refreshments, gourmet breaks and lunches.

On the deco side, the music inspires the place. On the walls, collector vinyl covers recall that the collective Art & Language - whose avant-garde works are presented in the castle - has collaborated on several albums of the psychedelic rock band Red Crayola. A piano is also available to visitors who wish to exercise their talent.
