"Cylinder heads"

Usually this expression is used to refer to a place far away, behind the sun-post, a place of difficult access.

I suppose that by chance they happened to have sent a port wine without great quality in a "Casco de Rolha" (read cork) to Brazil. Forgetfulness was not landed and returned to Portugal. When they tasted the wine that had returned they realized that not only had it improved a lot, as it had aged as if many years had passed. This small miracle had occurred because the trip was made in a cork (cork), which allowed the wine to breathe because it was not in an oak cask (which would have been the case if it had been a very good wine). abrupt changes in temperature to which it was subjected. This meant that it was regularly shipped with low quality "Cascos de Rolha" wine to Brazil, and later sold in Portugal as quality wine. This procedure was renamed "Vinho de Torna Viagem". As Brazil was a long way off, Corkshells would have come to mean far away.
