The cyclical events taking place in the cinema include Ostrowieckie Film Festivals, Russian Film Festival "SPUTNIK nad Polskiej" and screenings taking place during the Artistic Film Club meetings.

It is the only cinema in Ostrowiec Św. It has a rich history:

Within the city of Ostrowiec and its immediate vicinity, four cinemas were in operation: "HUTNIK" at ul. Kilinski, "PRZODOWNIK" at Aleja 3 Maja (now ETIUDA Cinema) and Cinema "ZORZA" in Denkow and "BAJKA" cinema in Częstocice. The shortest period of activity was recorded by "BAJKA" cinema. At the moment of the greatest popularity of films on VHS tapes and the boom of video rental chains, there are no more "ZORZA" and "HUTNIK" cinemas. Cinema "FRIDAY" was founded in 1953. Until the end of January 1981. It was functioning within the framework of the activity of the House of Culture of Huta im. M.Nowotki (since the beginning of the 90's - Steelworks Ostrowiec, since autumn 2003 - "Celsa Huta Ostrowiec") as a metallurgical union cinema. From February 1, 1981. cinema took over for about 3 years the OPRF (Regional Film Distribution Company) in Kielce, after 1984 to become a metallurgical cinema again. Shortly before the takeover of the cinema by the city, it was run by the company "PEGAZ". In this period another name began to function - Cinema "ZDK". Since the beginning of the cinema, the director of the House of Culture was the director of the cinema. In the years 1953-1998, Waclaw Włostowski, Jan Żaczek, Jerzy Ułanowicz, Władysław Romanowski, Jerzy Zajączkowski (1968-1974), Grzegorz Werecki, Stanisław Penxka, Taduesz Maj, Wieslaw Sarba (1977-1994) Bożena Żardecka (1994-1998). Also since September 1998, following the takeover of the cinema by the City Cultural Center, the following directors were represented by Maria Opała (until the beginning of 1999) and now Elżbieta Baran. Matters related to the current functioning of the cinema and repertoire plans were answered by the main MCK instructor - Waldemar Włodarczyk (from May 2004 - cinema manager, originator of the present name "ETIUDA").

There is no way to forget about the service of cinema, such as: operators (Stanisław Barański, Franciszek Bednarski, Cezary Krześniak, Adam Lisowski, Kazimierz Muchowski, Stanisław Przepiórka, Zdzisław Reczko, Jacek Wnuk, Zygmunt Zdyb), cashiers, Janina Antosik, Marian Deroń, Hanna Graczak, Maria Grad, Janina Kłonica, Bogumiła Kogut, Zofia Lach, Krystyna Malanowska, Zdzisław Polit, Bogumiła Swat, Irena Szczekutowicz, Stanislaw Wojsa, Władysław Ziętak) The period of functioning of the cinema (until 1968) was dominated by films from such countries as Poland, USSR, Czechoslovakia, GDR. Then American, French, Italian films began to appear. In the 70's, fashion for the "westerns", Japanese films about Godzilla, and in the early 80's very popular was the so-called. karate movies.

Municipal Cultural Center in Ostrowiec Św. has taken custody of the "ZDK" cinema since September 1998. Action was taken so that the only cinema in our city was both attractive in terms of repertoire, quality of projection and interior aesthetics. That's why the screen was replaced with a new Dolby Stereo Surround system and new Schneider lenses (September 1999). On the ground floor of the cinema there were seats, and the whole hall gained a new, aesthetic appearance (May 2000). From this moment on, the new name of the cinema - "ETIUDA". In 2003 new armchairs were installed on the balcony. The audience now has 464 seats (335 on the ground floor and 129 on the balcony). In addition to the screenings of the current repertoire, the filmmaking events of the artist's nature, such as Ostrowieckie Film Festival, Artistic Spring in "Etude" were planned.

In 2008 "Etiuda" cinema celebrated two jubilee: the 55th anniversary of the uprising and the 10th anniversary of the activities of the Municipal Cultural Center. On this occasion, during the IX OSTROWIECKY FILM MEETINGS, for the first time in our city on 14th November a screening of the film "Trip to the interior of the 3-D" in digital technology took place. The show and presentation was prepared by the Łódź company "KINEKSPERT". On the occasion of these jubilee, three occasional statuettes of "Friend of Cinema Etude" were received: former director of ZDK - Mrs. Wiesław Sarba, longtime employee of ZDK and MCC - Mr. Marian Deroń and cinema operator - Franciszek Bednarski. December 12th anniversary of the jubilee cinema celebrated its presence at the occasion of the author's meeting before the screening of the film "Sleepiness" by Małgorzata Kożuchowska. A new form of activity has emerged, namely the ARTIST FILM CLUB, which has been operating since January 2008 mainly thanks to the cooperation with the First High School in Warsaw. St.Staszica. The formula of the club, however, is open, and the film offer is also addressed to the individual recipient. Meetings are held on Saturdays, and the repertoire is set in the world cinema. The latest DOLBY DIGITAL EX sound processor has been purchased for our cinema, which is already adapted to the new digital technology that comes into the cinema.

In 2009 "Etiuda" cinema celebrated another jubilee. This time it was the X edition of OSTROWIECKY FILM SHOWS with artistic cinema. In order to emphasize this jubilee, t-shirts with occasional imprints were ordered, distributed to faithful filmmakers, representatives of distribution companies associated with our review for many years and as awards in competitions. At the turn of 2009/10, the movie "AVATAR" appeared in cinemas, a breakthrough event in the development and popularity of 3-D technology. The Polish cinema, which had digital equipment adapted for 3-D projection, was visited by the audience. "TITANIC" has been beaten so far. In order to provide the residents of our city with access to state-of-the-art projection technologies, efforts were made to equip the "Etiuda" cinema with a 3-D digital projector. At the end of May 2010, the first three-dimensional digital projection appeared on the "Etudes" screen.

At the end of 2013, at the prestigious nationwide film festival "36th FORUM ON THE CINEMA", organized by the cinema "POD BARANAMI" in the MAŁOPOLSKIM GARDEN OF ART in KRAKOW - Franciszek Bednarski - Ostrowiec cinema "ETIUDY" was awarded the HONORARY SILVER TICKET for outstanding contributions in dissemination films in Poland.
