Szentes Town was the seat of Csongrád County between 1883-1950. His museum was established early in 1897, in the county, after the establishment of the Szeged Museum, about ten years ago. The Csongrád County Museum in Szentendre has been operating in a dual role since the foundation of the archaeological heritage, with the exception of the collection area of ​​the Szeged Museum. On the other hand, he was accustomed to accumulating and presenting local, artistic and ethnographical values. The richness of its collections is that the main material of the museum in Szentes is the largest in the county after the museum in Szeged.
