The Civic Museum of Casale Monferrato is headquartered in the ancient Augustinian convent of the Holy Cross, has over five hundred works that make up a rich heritage linked to the city's history and art of Piedmont and Lombardy. It is divided into two sections: the Art Museum, which in its twenty-four rooms houses a prestigious series of works of art, including paintings by Guglielmo Caccia, known as Moncalvo, Niccolo Musso, Pietro Francesco Guala, Angelo Morbelli; and Gipsoteca dedicated to the symbolist sculptor, of Casale origins, Leonardo Bistolfi. The five rooms gathered around hundred and seventy works, including plaster models, plaster and clay sketches, drawings and some bronze works. The Museum is open to visitors for guided tours, information about the works on display, educational activities for each type of school, educational workshops for children and adults.
