Museo Terrecotte Castel Viscardo

Adibendo a seat recovered from an ancient fountain, the Museum of Terracotta has been set up by the Municipality of Castel Viscardo, with the active support of the LAG Trasimeno-Orvieto and the Umbria Region, and is part of the circuit called "Eco Landscape Museum Orvieto" and the so-called "Path of Crete" which connects the neighboring villages share a centuries-old tradition of brick manufacture or pots.

Priority this museum was created with the intent to remember and enhance the work of the kiln of Castel Viscardo, thus represent a social identity and work, individual and collective relevant to this municipality. In fact this craft, also born in many other countries out of necessity (production of building materials) continued to exist here and to keep alive because he has been able to transform its product into a valuable artifact, absolutely unchanged over the centuries, both in the process that in the final result. The Museum of pottery, then, part of the wider meaning of "eco-museum", ie of those museums that have the aim of promoting its territorial and social identity and to discover the outside, through promotion campaigns and educational activities and research a product or an area of ​​particular interest. The aim of this museum management, however, is also to be used more open and contemporary guestrooms with events and different types of initiatives, through the use, with an interdisciplinary approach, different communication techniques, their theater, literature , poetry, music, contemporary art through an increasingly broad and necessary community involvement.
