The Museum in Elblag is the oldest museum of Warmia and Mazury and one of the oldest museums in Poland. Founded in 1864, the Prussian Stadtliche Museum ruins the events of World War II. The tradition of harvesting collections was restored in 1954 within the borders of Poland. Collected from 150 years, you can admire in two historical buildings, in the past being part of the Teutonic Knights.

Elblag Reconditus - a 700-year history of the city, interrupted brutally in 1945, laboriously reconstructed on the basis of multi-year archaeological research. It resembles the scale of the damage that has hit the city and its strength to rise from the fall.


History in the faces, faces of history - exhibition based on the film series of interviews with former inhabitants of Elblag. Tales, documents, objects and photographs depict the pre-war world seen through the eyes of children.

From the Baltic to Rome - The exhibition is based on a unique collection of monuments from Weklic - one of the most well-known cemeteries of Polish culture in Poland, where over 600 different types of burials have been discovered. Of the thousands of objects excavated, the most interesting ones were selected - including those obtained in recent years and never presented before. They depict the resourcefulness and wealth of our former inhabitants, the richness of the region and prove that it was not just a borderline of the ancient world.


The western building of the museum complex is named after the Gymnasium, founded in 1535. At present, it is subject to intensive renovation work and is therefore closed to the public
