Puck, with its characteristic silhouette, piling up above the roofs of houses, a Gothic church and a well preserved medieval urban layout, was a place that, in the past, played a significant role in the history of Poland. The urban and cultural life of the Kashub people can be traced to the Museum of the Puck Region, whose history dates back to 1970, when the Puck Institute for the Collection of Cultural Goods and the Knowledge of the Region was established in Puck. Its aim was to conduct research and to collect historical objects related to the region. In 1975 the Ethnographic Department was opened, a year later the Historical, and at the end of the 70s the Archeological Institute in connection with underwater research in the Bay of Puck. In 1973. In the building of the former "Szpitalika" the first exhibition devoted to Kashubian folk culture was opened. The building of the forge at ul. Bogusława and a townhouse in the market. In 1982, in connection with the construction of the power plant over J. Żarnowiecki, the MZP established the Open Air Museum in Nadol. The "Grzegska Zagroda" in Nadol and the "Mansion House" in Puck were made available for viewing on June 23rd, 1987. In this way, the exhibition possibilities increased. In the Kamienica there are exhibitions about the past of Puck and Puck, in Szpitalik ethnographic expositions related to small-town artisans, and in Nadol reconstructed the picture of the life of a wealthy rural family. During the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Museum celebrated on 6.11.2000, the name of the resident of this land FLORIANA CEYN was given to the Kashubian.
