Piccolo Teatro Rufina

The Rufina Theater group is a voluntary cultural association non-profit operating in the territory of the Province of Florence since 1976 and legally established by notarial deed of 22 February 1990, was admitted to the Regional Volunteer DPGR n. 03809 of 25.9.1995 and in the Register of Provincial Associations non-profit. The Group operates on the regional and national level since 1977.

Besides proposing their representations, the Group, which manages the Little Theater of Rufina, organizes regional and national theater festivals in which they participated and continue to participate in companies without any limitation of acronyms (FITA, UILT, TAI, FOM, GATER, ARCI , MCL, .....) and also it organizes shows for children and schools.

The Statute of the Association is in line with the national law n.266 / 1991 and implementing regional ones and illustrates the essentially cultural purposes and disclosure of love for the theater and the gratuitousness of the association in order to create an organism that can aggregate and socialize people of different ages and from different social backgrounds.

The Group is in possession dell'agibilità issued by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which allows amateur to perform in public companies.

Rufinateatro: with this theme are presented, since 1980, regional theater festivals and a national character.

There are many cultural initiatives that have arisen for the Group's intention or whose success has often contributed in a decisive way.

The main activity of the group is acting. The plays staged by the group of companies have been 67 for a total of more than 355 performances beginning with the Florentine dialect, because it is important not to deny their cultural roots. He then continued alternating in language comedies in dialect comedies performed works of composers of the past and contemporary, Italian and foreign.

The Group has taken charge of the management of the Little Theater of Rufina keeping open a theater to amateur companies and organizing these exhibitions (Rufinateatro) who attended the most prestigious of the non-professional theater companies, thus fulfilling one of the aims set out in the statute which it advocated a cultural decentralization and greater knowledge of the make theater in our area.

Over the years there has always been available with their participation and initiative to promote and to realize meetings and entertainment that have contributed to the success of events and festivals (Feast of the Epiphany for children, Women's Day, XXV Aprile Bacchus Craftsman). The Group has sponsored and organized the theater courses using both employees in the group is professional. These courses are not aimed exclusively at the exhibition on a stage, although at the end of the course a test is proposed, but mainly serve to correct his behavior, posture and diction.

Moreover, besides the acting group has promoted and organized since 1995 the National Literary Prize "City of Rufina" Today "Poetry Prize Gian Carlo Montagni" which is held every two years with the collaboration of the municipal administration and has seen in the seven editions made, an average attendance of about 600 poets from all Italian regions and some even from abroad.

Always with the spirit of doing a service to those who make theater without profit the Group has advertised its theatrical archive that has over 5000 texts. And a catalog of the texts collected shows the number of acts, the genre of comedy 'was made, the language, the dialect, the number of characters divided into men, women, children and extras. Initially this catalog was a reminder for members of the group, but over time it has proved a useful handbook for anyone who wants to make theater.
