Teatro Della Cometa

Jewel of art on the slopes of the Capitol (as he called Antonio Munoz) opened in 1934 and strongly desired by Anna Laetitia Pecci Blunt, the Teatro della Cometa immediately met a well-deserved fame. In the fifties - exactly in 1958 - the theater was completed by architects Tommaso Buzzi and Virgilio Marchi. For ten years the business was uninterrupted by hosting theatrical first authors "difficult", such as Ionesco, Beckett, Kopit, prestigious guests in the evenings of "one man show" (John Gielgud, Jean-Louis Barrault, Madeleine Renaud), famous concert (Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Nikita Magaloff), singing recitals (Milly, Gisela May, Charles Trenet), chamber operas of the Italian repertoire. In 1969 a short circuit caused a fire that completely destroyed the theater. After 17 years, in agreement with Viviana Pecci Blunt, daughter of Laetitia disappeared, Giorgio Jar revived at the Teatro della Cometa, in collaboration with architect Alberto Filippi. Giorgio Jar Jar is the grandson of Joseph, the famous film producer of the first two decades of the century, founder of Caesar Film, discoverer of Francesca Bertini and star of the golden age of Italian silent films.
