Teatro Prati - Arte del Teatro

Teatro Prati stems from Fabio Gravina to give a "home" to the Theatre Company who heads the Rome area for some years. The Commendatore Domenico Gravina, father of Fabio, so decided to take over a room intended previously to an industrial typography and make it a theater.

Fabio Gravina, along with Angelo Precious architects and Joseph Pepe begin so to design what will be then the "small lounge of Rome." You want to immediately give a design point the idea that a theater in via degli Scipioni 98, there has always been and therefore is chosen a very classic line. Stucco, the hall, the stage, all the furnishings were made and chosen with this in mind. The entire project took place in about nine months; where a team of skilled technicians and workers led by surveyor De Angelis assured the right opening scheduled for 9 November 1998. The Teatro Prati was so accomplished in record time!

On 19 November 1998 the theater gets its glorious curtain on a play by Peppino De Filippo and Armando Curcio entitled: "Casanova would do so." Special guest along with many other great artists is Alberto Sordi. With this play that inaugurated the Teatro you start to immediately give the right connotation to what would later be described by some theater critics: "a true treasure trove of well-being."

Teatro Prati represented for years in Rome, "the temple of the Neapolitan theater" and arrived to the roof of 25,300 spectators in a season, for 3 years now the Artistic Director in the person of Fabio Gravina decided to explore new repertoires to give your audience something new but always with the style that mixes humor and reflection, humor and feeling. This decision arose from the high regard for the public that every night by choosing this theater does raise his glorious curtain.
