The Painted Cat Gite

The Painted Cat is a recently renovated Detached French barn located in the Loire Valley near La Fleche. With original details whilst offering a modern interior. The Painted Cat has a fully fitted kitchen, sleeps 4, (plus 2 additional king rooms in the main house,) ideal for couples & friends*, a spacious living room, with comfortable modern soft furnishing, Flat screen free-sat TV, wi-fi, radio & dvd player.

A seperate Dining room, opens to a large, fully fitted kitchen, with gas range cooker, NEW! tapenyaki grill, microwave, filter coffee machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, I pod dock & radio. Off the kitchen is a utility room with a washing machine and wc with hand basin.

The open plan staircase,(*unsuitable for children under 12 yrs or infirm,) leads upstairs to the two ensuite bedrooms, one plus king size and one as a twin, these can be changed as required, high thread count egyptian cotton linen, to ensure a comfortable nights sleep, Hypo allergenic pillows are available. Duvets are lightweight duck and down, but synthetic duvets, are available on request. Bath sheets are provided along with quality shower products.

Outside we have ample flat parking, and the private garden area, has a gas b.b.q and terrace furniture. The garden overlooks ancient woodland and our fields are frequently visited by deer, who can sometimes be spotted in the early dawn or dusk

La Fleche is the nearest town for supermarket shopping, 6 minute drive to Carrefour, which opens on Sunday mornings until 12.00, LeClerc, Lidl and Aldi are 10 minutes away but are in close proximity to each other, also in this area is a Fruit & veg store, offering locally grown produce. Then of course, is the traditional market held on Wednesday, this runs along the main street opposite the river.There is a "Gourmet" market on Sunday which takes place in the old corn market, and is adjacent to the pretty little theatre, which opens according to the sign on the wall, and has a beautiful painted interior. La Fléche zoo, subject of a recent TV series, is just a short drive, as is the beach at la Monnerie, with many water based activities, plus an indoor sports facility & pool.

Many local towns have architectural & historical interest, Le Mans in particular has been used as the setting for several period films. There is an excellent 18 hole golf course at Baugé, (golf breaks available, contact owner) + walking, cycling, fishing, are all available to enjoy. Paris is reachable in under 1 hour, from Le Mans TGV. The Loire chateaux are all an easy drive, as are the vineyards of Saumur, Bourgueil, Chinon & the Anjou rosé wines. There is fine dining in La Fléche at a Michelin star restaurant overlooking the Loir, and there are several high quality family restaurants offering local specialities.
