Vingsted hotel & konferencecenter

Vingsted is set in the small village of Vingsted near Vejle. If we go back in time, the name Vingsted has arisen from the curve of the river and the river has affected the later Vingsted mill. DDS - The Danish Shooting Association established a shooting area in Vingsted in the late 1900s, and already in 1880 the place was a favorite excursion target for road users.

In the year 1900 you started gymnastics shows, which originally took place in Grejsdalen. For these events, 4-5,000 participants participated. A misleading bullet from the shooting range put an end to the shows so that for many years different locations in the county were held.

In 1935, Vejle Amts Skyttegymnastik and IF purchased an area of ​​8-10 TDr. Land to 1000 kr. eg land, including planning and drainage, the total cost was DKK 17,000, -.

An outdoor swimming pool, stadium, estrade, athletics, shooting facility and youth hostel were established. The total cost of housing was DKK 75,000, of which part of the work was carried out as emergency relief work (long-term unemployed during the 30's crisis). At the inauguration on 28 June 1936, the company was named Vingsted Stadium.

During the Second World War, the area was used by the Germans, a. had established a large amphitheater (cinema) on the estuary at the swimming pool. After the war, refugee camp was established and in the early 50's the building stock was totally worn out.

In 1958 volunteers built a sports hall, it was by the way the other sports hall in the county of Vejle.

In 1970 the Self-governing Institution Vingsted was formed, and the ownership went from DDSG & I, Vejle County to the Danish Association of Danish Shooting, Gymnastics and Sport Associations, from 1992 DGI.

In 1973 and 1974 the center was expanded with 94 rooms, hall 2, swimming pool, classrooms and new dining facilities. On May 21, 1974, her majesty Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik Vingsted invigorated the words "For the growth of all good forces in this country, I hereby enter this center".

In the 1980s, the center was expanded with auditorium, several teaching rooms, 32 new rooms and an increase in dining capacity. In addition, new indoor shooting ranges were built.

In 1994 a new restaurant was built, in the 1998 Center Hall, several meeting rooms and 30 new rooms.

Today Vingsted is a modern 4-star course and conference center as well as a 3-star hotel. The central location makes the place extremely suitable for meetings and conferences where people gather from near and far. With solid roots in the Danish people's sport through the close relationships with DGI and DDS, the place and atmosphere are absolutely outstanding.

In 2011, a new 28-room room section was opened, bringing the center up to 191 rooms and 618 beds, and in the same year the restaurant was expanded to double, so it can now accommodate mine. 400 guests.
