Revitalized village centers, regional and renewable materials, careful handling of existing building culture - sustainable architecture has many faces. It shapes the identity of places and creates spaces in which people feel comfortable. Every two years, the Swiss Federal Office for Spatial Development and the Office for the Environment of the Principality of Liechtenstein award the "Constructive Alps" architectural prize to sustainable renovation and new construction in the Alpine region. This with the aim of making the Alps within the meaning of the Alpine Convention the model region in the To develop climate protection.   The exhibition «Bivouac # 20. Constructive Alps 2017. Sustainable renovation and building in the Alps »shows the thirty projects nominated for the prize. Among them are ten buildings from Switzerland, such as the football stadium Schluein or the new Federal Criminal Court in Bellinzona.   Building for the community Thirty in the room, 'floating' exhibition panels show on one side the expert eye. The other side presents the users' perspective on the built and renovated residential buildings, kindergartens, leisure facilities or meetinghouses. Film portraits give a vivid insight into four selected buildings and the diverse aspects of sustainability. For example, since the beginning of the competition four years ago, high energy standards have largely become reality established. Many of the projects submitted in 2017 emphasize community living together and focus on the social dimension of architecture.   In October 2017, the architecture magazine "Hochparterre" publishes a thematic booklet on the architecture award "Constructive Alps".
