Art and Spirituality. “Santa Cecilia de Montserrat. Espai d'Art Sean Scully”

The Monastery of Santa Cecília is located in one of the loveliest settings of the mountain of Montserrat, and only a five minute drive from the Sanctuary. Its recently-restored church dates from the 11th century, and is one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in the region. It is currently hosting the work of one of the most internationally-celebrated contemporary artists: Sean Scully. The nave of this Romanesque church dedicated to Santa Cecília, the patron of music, is filled with paintings, coloured glass, altarpieces and frescos. To feel the spirituality in the nature and in a place that combines the authenticity of one thousand years of history with the avant-garde works of Sean Scully, creating a space with strong spiritual meaning. OPENING HOURS Open only the weekends from 10am to 6:30 pm. From July 1st to medium of September will open on weekdays too, except on Tuesday. See timetable.
