The manor house dates back to the 19th century. XVIII and was bought in 1920 by José Duarte Henriques de Sousa when he returned from Mozambique after an adventure that lasted about 20 years by the then Portuguese African backlands. He chose Campia, a land of the municipality of Vouzela, which in the words of the people means "plowed land", an extensive plain at the foot of the Caramulo mountain range. The house, built in a classic, timeless style with a shop, wine cellar, canasta and stables for livestock, was the cornerstone of an economy centered on agriculture and livestock and was for many years the mainstay of his family. Located in the center of the village, near the Church and the pillory, became a reference. Later, in the second half of the last century, it was reformulated by his son Amadeu Duarte Henriques de Sousa, also known as the "Doctor of the African", who adapted and reformulated it to practice his profession, building his doctor's office where he received his friends and the sick. Today, Paulo Sousa, as the current owner, took the decision to convert it into "Turismo Rural", an ambitious transformation that the architect Paulo Loureiro gave form, in a perfect symbiosis in which the past is integrated in the future, turning the space into a pleasant place for family vacations, business meetings or just for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
