Get started - with us you can "experience" railroads up close!

We restore and maintain historic railway vehicles and the necessary infrastructure to operate on the premises at Nuremberg Northeast Station.

In the past few years we have been able to procure a passenger train in the style of the 1950s and bring the partially scrap-wrecked vehicles back to life.

During the refurbishment of a locomotive or a car, one can follow all steps of the emergence and get to know the vehicle inside and out.

This happens mostly in the own workshop. The knowledge gained in the process later makes a decisive contribution to the operation and rectification of defects.

We want to convey the railway traffic of the 50's to a broad public alive!

Many vehicles of this time could be included in our collection, are now back in service and run in our special trains.

To keep our vehicle fleet in good condition, constant maintenance and repair work is necessary. In 1993, we were able to acquire the long awaited own steam locomotive with the 52 8195 and make it fast for the museum. She has been our workhorse since 1996 and is enthusiastic about the events big and small.

During our driving season, usually from May to December, we offer steam special rides in the northern Bavarian region. Here our fleet can be presented to a wide audience and shown in action. Particularly popular are the Santa Claus and Christkindleszüge in Advent.

We also have our fleet rolled out at the annual company outing, at events of friendly clubs and on other occasions.

Admission to the RU (Rail Transport Company) allows us to carry out all museum rides on our own. The training of personnel and the maintenance and processing of our vehicles is thus possible on our own responsibility.

Although much has been achieved in recent years, there is still a lot to do. Diverse tasks have to be mastered: the further restoration and preservation of our vehicles and facilities, but also the organization of special trips and the administration of the association.

We are sure that every one of us will find a demanding and by no means boring leisure activity. So let's go and get started!

Do not worry, even without previous knowledge, almost everything can be learned with appropriate motivation. Also, every dedicated member can train to shunter, heater, train driver, even up to the steam locomotive driver.

We look forward to every new member, regardless of whether you support us only by your membership fee or even create by hand.

Just come over!
