As an efficient four-storey house, the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau (GHT) enriches the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia region with performances of music theater (opera, operetta, musical), dance and drama as well as Philharmonic concerts of the New Lusatian Philharmonic.

Especially popular are the productions of the summer theater (from May to September) on the Waldbühne Jonsdorf and in the Klosterhof Zittau as well as on the Görlitz Nikolaifriedhof.

In addition, the theater is involved with mobile productions and educational offerings u. a. for the cultural education of children and adolescents as well as for intercultural exchange with the neighboring countries Poland and the Czech Republic.
