Mayoral

Mayoral, founded in 1989, is a gallery specialised in modern and post-war art, and centred mainly in the city of Barcelona during the period 1930-1969.

Miró, Dalí and Picasso are the main artists mostly represented by the Mayoral gallery, which, at the same time, also defend and promotes the founders and members of the artistic group “Dau al Set”: Ponç, Brossa and Tàpies, as well as other great artists related to Barcelona, such as: Calder, Chagall and Chillida.

We stage curated exhibitions, organized in collaboration with the foundations, associations and families of the artists, who work to safeguard their legacies. Mayoral Galeria d’Art is also a patron of the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona. Some of the most prominent exhibitions carried out by the gallery have been: Miró/Calder; Miró. Le courtisan grotesque; Dalí. The worries of a genius; 35 Picassos and Chillida-Awakening.

The gallery operates on an international scale through its presence in many prestigious art fairs, and has contact with the most important collectors, galleries and museums, like: the MoMA, the Picasso Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofía.
