McDonald's is respectful of the environment, like all other restaurants that have signed the Charter for the Environment. Here are the main axes:

Eco-responsible commitment

McDonald's France acts on all of its areas of responsibility: from the most upstream agricultural practices to the end of waste life downstream of its activities, including all the intermediate links: water, energy, buildings, transport and logistics, restaurant management.

Eco-friendly products and services

In 2010, two major areas of progress in the field of energy were implemented: the deployment of the installation of heat pumps in restaurants and the choice of green electricity. All the electricity consumed by restaurants is covered by certificates. Our actions in restaurants are reflected in the deployment of an energy and natural resources management plan, landscape integration and the energy efficiency of buildings.

Contribution to the protection of the environment

To reduce the impact of its packaging on the environment, McDonald's acts from their conception by working on the optimization of their weight and volume, and on the choice of materials that compose them. In terms of materials, 90% of McDonald's packaging is today made of paper and cardboard (materials derived from renewable resources) and the majority of them are made up of more than 72% of recycled fibers.

Social responsibility

Launched in 2008, the Abandoned Packaging Program culminated in a local charter signed between McDonald's restaurants and the associated municipalities, in order to combine their efforts in four areas: less and less bulky packaging, bins adapted to new consumption patterns, waste collection more visible to the general public and communication encouraging changes in behavior.
