Moderna Museet

The Modern Museum has one of the world's premier collections of art from about 1900 to today. The photographic part also covers the period from about 1840. The task of Modern Museum is to collect, preserve, display and convey 1900s and 21st century art in all its forms. The modern museum in Stockholm was opened on May 9, 1958, in the old exercise hall in Skeppsholmen. The mission to draw the new Modern Museum went to an Spanish contestant, Rafael Moneo, after an international competition. The goal was to open the building in connection with the Stockholm Capital of Culture in 1998, which also took place - February 12, 1998.

On December 26, 2009, the Modern Museum opened Malmö.
