Musée international de la Réforme

The International Museum of Reformation has a dual purpose: to recall what founded the 16th century Reformation, in other words a Word of life and salvation, and to describe the turbulent history of men and women who have recognized themselves in this tradition. It is this trajectory, both spiritual and cultural, that is exposed to the cradle of the Reformation. The ingenious museographers managed to bring to life themes such as the Bible, the work of Calvin, the controversy with other Christian denominations, the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes or the resistance to Nazism, the missions or the ministry pastoral women. Even theological debates have their place, as in the dining room where plates start talking about the issue of predestination!

The history of Protestantism is both a spiritual and cultural movement and is presented in the ground floor of the Maison Mallet. The resourceful museum designers succeeded in breathing life into themes like the Bible, the work of Calvin, religious controversy with other Christian traditions, the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, Protestant resistance to fascism, missionary work and the role of women in the ministry. In the dining room, for instance, on the table "debate" different views on predestination.
