MUSEO Carmelitas Granada

Carmelita official website of AO Museum of the city of Granada. Located within the monastery of the Incarnation (1508) in the heart of the city, in the Realejo. The museum will open its doors in order to inform the public the unknown heritage that house the walls of this building as well as the community of Carmelite nuns roads that dwell therein. It will not be a typical museum of sacred art, since the collections it houses the community are different in nature, such that, archeology, numismatics, instruments, jewelry, textiles, documents, postcards, photos, etc. The permanent exhibition will be accompanied by temporary exhibitions, guests parts from other Carmelite convents, and pieces by contemporary artists, in order to help people trying to gain a foothold in the art world. All this being done in different phases, because we put up the house, for public visits, and intervene heritage.
