Museo Carsico,Geologico e Paleontologico di Monfalcone

PALEONTOLOGY Our collection includes about 10,000 artifacts, mostly from outcrops of the region Friuli Venezia Giulia and range to cover almost all of the geological time scale, in our case: dall'Ordoviciano all'Pleistocene. The main harvest is still mainly karst therefore attributable to the Cretaceous period. Much of the karst outcrops have been identified by the Founder and Honorary socio Bottari Orlando, who with methodical patience, perseverance and a true instinct researcher, between the years 60 and 70, found important outcrops such as: Marcottini, famous for some gastropods pigmented; Moschenizza, for the wonderful radiolitids perfectly preserved; Polazzo, fossil fish, locating in the town itself, several outcrops. EDUCATIONAL - SCHOOLS PROPOSAL We create for free on specific written request sent to our association, themed educational exhibits, even at the premises of the schools themselves.

We propose the following educational exhibits: The main malacofauna upper Adriatic; Minerals and gems The evolutionary history of the Earth through the fossil record Shells of all seas

Each exhibition is accompanied by specific educational panels.

We also offer: Intervention of our experts to support classes to teachers concerning argomneti above; paleontological laboratory activities with the reconstruction in the courtroom of fossils in plaster; Organization of visits to ipogge cavity of talented co cavers associated with the Speleological Federation Isontina.

NB: For interventions in the classroom is preferable to the day of Saturday.
