Museo MADRE

In the ancient heart of Naples, along the "Via dei Musei", the three floors of the eighteenth-century Palazzo Donnaregina host the Donnaregina Museum of Contemporary Art: 7200 square meters of exhibition space, with site-specific installations, temporary collections and exhibitions.

Acquired in 2005 by the Campania Region to designate it as a museum for contemporary art and restored on the design of the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, the Palace is entrusted to the Fondazione Donnaregina for contemporary arts.

On June 10, 2005, the Mother inaugurated her spaces with the opening of site-specific outfits in the first floor halls; Between 2005 and 2006, the entire building is completed with the opening of the second floor halls, which today host over 300 works and documents of "Per_formare una collezione" and those of the third floor, intended for exhibitions temporary.
